ABOUT THIS SITE
Yoga Pitha is the most sacred spot in the entire Navadvipa dhama — the exact place where Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the golden avatar, appeared in this world on Phalguna Purnima in 1486 CE.
Standing here, one stands at the very origin point of the worldwide Hare Krishna movement. It was from this very spot that the most merciful avatar began His mission to flood the world with divine love through the chanting of the holy names of God.
The temple complex features a beautiful deity of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu at the precise location of His birth. The neem tree under which He appeared still stands, its leaves considered especially sacred by pilgrims from around the world.
