ETERNAL RESTING PLACE OF THE ACHARYA

Prabhupada's Samadhi

ABOUT THIS SITE

The Samadhi of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is one of the most visited and revered sites in Mayapur. Srila Prabhupada, the founder-acharya of ISKCON, departed from this world in November 1977, and his samadhi was constructed here within the ISKCON campus.

The samadhi building is an architectural masterpiece — a multi-storied structure of extraordinary beauty housing a lifelike murti of Srila Prabhupada in a meditative posture. The entire building is crafted from marble and adorned with intricate carvings depicting his life and mission.

Pilgrims from every corner of the world travel to this spot to offer their obeisances and receive the mercy of the great acharya who single-handedly brought Krishna consciousness to the Western world within a decade.
