Radha Kund — Shyama Kund
NAVADVIPA DHAMA

SACRED PONDS OF THE DIVINE COUPLE

Radha Kund — Shyama Kund

ABOUT THIS SITE

Radha Kund and Shyama Kund are considered by Vaishnava acharyas to be the most sacred bodies of water in all of existence — even more sacred than the Ganges itself. These ponds are intimately associated with Srimati Radharani and Lord Krishna, and bathing in them is described as the highest act of purification.

Within the Navadvipa dhama, this representation of Radha Kund serves as a place for pilgrims to connect with the transcendental world of Vrindavana while residing in the dhama of Navadvipa. The two sacred traditions of Navadvipa and Vrindavana are considered inseparable in the Gaudiya Vaishnava understanding.

The atmosphere here is pervaded by a sweetness and intimacy that distinguishes it from other sites — a softness that speaks to the loving exchange at the heart of the Vaishnava tradition.
