GHAT OF THE MOST FALLEN'S REDEMPTION
ABOUT THIS SITE
Jagai and Madhai were notorious drunkards and criminals of Navadvipa — possibly the most fallen souls in the city. Yet when Lord Nityananda and Lord Chaitanya encountered them, rather than condemning them, They offered them unconditional love and the gift of the holy name.
Despite Madhai injuring Lord Nityananda with a clay pot, Lord Chaitanya responded with forgiveness rather than punishment. This pastime became one of the most celebrated demonstrations of divine mercy in all of Vaishnava literature — proof that no soul is beyond redemption.
The ghat where this transformation occurred has been preserved as a sacred site. It stands as permanent evidence that the mercy of Lord Chaitanya knows no bounds and extends even to those the world has abandoned.
